Lady Gaga, born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta hit the scene in 2008.

Lady Gaga opened for the Pussycat Dolls and New Kids On The Block before embarking on her first headlining tour entitled, The Fame Ball Tour.  She has sold 20 million digital singles and 3 million albums worldwide.  The glam rocker was inspired by Queen, David Bowie, Madonna and of course the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.  The bi sexual singer claims that fashion is an inspiration to her music.  

Here unique fashion sense has had its share of critics as she appeared semi nude on the cover of  the Hot 100 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine in May of 2009.  The singer worse only plastic bubbles to cover her body.  Controversy surrounds her music as well, with Poker Face being about her fantasizing about a women while in bed with a man.  Despite all the chatter, good and bad, Lady Gaga was nominated for nine awards during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and won Best New Artist.  

Along with those awards, the singer is a topper in the downloadable ringtones market.  More and more people are using her singles as their ringtones on their mobile phones.
